THOMAS JEFFERSON POPE was born Abt. 1820 in Indiana.  He married MARTHA ANN GILLILAND 16 Aug 1851.  She was born 04 Sep 1834 in Indiana, and died Abt. 1921.       

Children of THOMAS POPE and MARTHA GILLILAND are:

                   i.    SUSAN MARTHA POPE, b. 03 Mar 1867, Indiana; d. 19 Sep 1956, Corbin, KS.

                  ii.    THEODORE GRANT POPE, b. 03 Mar 1865, Springfield, MO; d. 04 May 1938, Doster, KS.

                 iii.    JEFFIE POPE, b. Abt. 1874, Kansas.

    Joseph Grant Smith, b. 2-Mar-1863 in Vinto, Benton Co., Iowa,[1],[2],[3] (son of Benjamin Franklin Smith and Weltha Ann Dana) d. Mother's Day 12-May-1935 near Perth, Sumner Co., Kansas,[4] buried in Perth Cemetery, Perth, Kansas,[5] occupation Farmer.[6]  Joseph bought land from his parents, Benjamin and Weltha Ann Smith April 27, 1883 in Sumner County, Kansas.  It was the South West Quarter (S.W. 1/4) of Section No. Two (2) in Township N; Thirty-four (34) South and in Range N. Three (3) West.  The purchase price was one thousand dollars.  This same land was homesteaded by his brother, Truman April 21, 1879 for two hundred dollars.  Joseph died in an automobile accident.  Joseph and his family were in Kingfisher County, Oklahoma arriving there in May, 1890. He married 22-Jan-1884 in Caldwell, Sumner Co., Kansas,[7],[8] Susan Martha Pope, b. 3-Mar-1867 in Gentry Co., Missouri,[9] d. 19 Sep 1956 Corbin, Sumner Co., Kansas.[10]  Susan: Susan, husband, Joesph Grant Smith and three children arrived in Kingfisher County, Oklahoma in May 1890.

                      v     Albert E. Smith b. 25-Mar-1896. d. 07 Jan 1979

                      vi    Myrtle Effie Pearl Smith b. 12-Apr-1898. d. 13 Nov 1985

                     vii    Edith Rosetta Smith b. 25-Jan-1901. d. 04 Jun 1986

                     viii   Grace Esther Theota Smith b. 7-Apr-1906. d. 12 Oct 1977

                      ix    Finace Everta Joy Smith b. 30-May-1910. d. 29 Aug 1987
