Mrs. J. Webster Dies; Services Held Sunday
Final tribute was paid Mrs. John (Mary Elizabeth) Webster, 21, of 329 North Athenian, Wichita, on Sunday afternoon at two-thirty o'clock in the First Methodist church, Caldwell. Mrs. Webster died early Friday morning [Aug. 5, 1960] in the Caldwell General hospital.
Rev. Robert Haines of Mulvane, former pastor of the local Methodist church, and Rev. Preston Hollis, pastor of the Caldwell Assembly of God church, officiated at the services. Soloist was Alan Kubik, Mrs. Walter Reeder was organist.
Interment was in the Caldwell cemetery with Schaeffer's Mortuary in charge. Bearers were Kenneth Ingle, Lee Perry, William Murrison, Alfred Ingram, Carrol Harris and Walt Ehler.
Mrs. Webster was born December 23, 1938 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, the only child of Abra H. and Frances Louise Brown Pierce. The family moved to Caldwell in 1944, later moving to Independence, Kansas, for a while, then returning to Caldwell. She graduated from the Caldwell high school with the class of 1957. On April 5, 1958 she was united in marriage to John Paul Webster of Caldwell, and they moved to Wichita to make their home. Mrs. Webster was a member of the Caldwell Methodist church.
Survivors include her parents, Abra H. Pierce, who is mayor of Caldwell and Frances Louise Pierce; her husband, John Paul Webster of Wichita; two sons, John Paul Webster, Jr., 18 months, and Richard Pierce Webster, two weeks.
